6 years is the general consensus...I run some 25 year old BFG radial T/A's in the spring and fall on my 84' Hurst...have to be better than Mickey Thompson drag radials...never drive over 100 MPH for extended periods of time though

Just looked at my Dakota tires, one split on the side and would not hold air. The rest are getting cracks in the tread and some on the sidewalls. Checked, the date, 0612, exactly 9 years old. I replaced the spare with a Goodyear Duratrac studded tire. The rest are getting replaced with before the year is out.

Burnouts til they pop
I just went through all my tires, since I let the four 13 year old tires go with the 88, my oldest ones are 2015, other than my Dakota. Guess what, they are starting to get sidewall cracks! So as soon as the 358 is done, traction testing will begin with this pair of 205/75R14's😁. My brand new tire I bought was a month old and all the other tires looked to have about the right ages when bought, 2016, 2017 and 2019, not getting stuck with old stock.

I went through this last year with my Malibu. I’ve owned the wheels and tires on the car since 2000. They probably had like 100 miles on them and still looked like new. I replaced them anyway. For $400 not worth the risk.
