A couple reasons you don't see many Grand Ams is that they only made ~18,000 over a three year period whereas they made >500,000 Malibus, >500,000 Grand Prixs...etc..
Also, I've bought several of mine from the original owner, after 20 to 28 years after they bought them.
I just bought an 80 Grand Am from the second owner, who had the car for 28 years!!
I just sold an 80, today, that I bought from the original owner.
And, still have 3 that I bought from the original owners.
An original owner in IN just sold his 80 Grand Am to someone in TX last Friday.
So, they made very few of these and people hang onto them..
