How much up will I gain?

i know I won't gain slot but I just wanna know how mch hp I will gain from taking the smog stuff off, put in electric fans(have them sitting in my trunk), and bump the timing up to 10 degrees BTDC I have an HEI Dizzy with vac advance and a 600cfm edelbrock carb what else can I do without putting money into the 305H.O.? drivetrain is 305H.O. th350 3:73 posi
 
From what I have read you wont gain much even with the smog sh*t taken off. The engine is stil very restricted in the heads so you can only get so much. I might be wrong but I looked into this when I was looking at getting a 305.
 
if you remove the egr you'll have to go down in your advance, not up, since the egr cools down the combustion chamber temp, if you don't your engine will ping..and 83MONTESS is right, the heads are the problem in your engine
 
yeaa theyre only 58cc or something like that right? i have my timing bumped right now with all the smog stuff connected...what about if i replace the old fan with an electric one?
 
It's not really the chamber size that hurts you its more along the lines of the small ports, small valves and small runners. About the best thing you could do with that aside from replace it with a 350 which I know you plan on doing down the road is throw an intake on it, headers, decent carb and try to fine tune your timing. You could also throw a set of gears in the rear end.

Edit: Didnt see you already said you had gears. The reason I recommend intake and headers it because they can simply be put on a 350 down the road. As far as the fan goes. I don't really think your gonna pick up any power really. If the clutch is working on the fan then its gonna spin pretty freely most the time. Although electric fans installed properly are pretty cool.
 
When i had my old 305 it was equipped with some long tube Hooker headers with the air injection bungs welded on and a true dual exhaust, It sounded and ran pretty good!! I have passed emission inspections without any ?? It was allright till when i swapped in crate 350 and then it definetly woke up though i did have issues making it pass a emissions test!! i must admit i ran a 1405 Edelbrock carb VS a emissions calibrated 1406..
