I use SEM color coat , it is flexible vinyl dye it works on carpet vinyl & plastic . You need to clean every thing very well and they also recommend using adhesion promoter.first.
agree x2, clean the heck out of it, with out good prep work it will not turn out very good. Clean with soap and water and then use aceatone, let dry for a day, use a good adhesion promoter. It's all in the prep work. good luck !

Sorry, I know this thread is rather old and I'm digging it back up....

how many cans are usually needed to paint all the interior trim parts? I just scored almost an entire Monte LS interior from the boneyard and wanted to paint it, but I'd rather order all the paint & everything at one time....thanks everyone

To go along with this, how well has your "SEM" paint held up over time?

So it's fairly recent I take it? Is it easy to scratch? Durable? I really need to paint my interior as well, that's why I ask

I have painted a couple of hundred steering columns from theft recoveries, and parts for my own cars in the last twenty some odd years. I have never had any customer come back with any thing peeling off. You just have to properly prep and use the adhesion promoter. I don't think you will have any problems.
It's over100 degrees here for almost 7 months a year. It seems to hold up very well.

does the "SEM" have this "Adhesion promoter" or what breed do you use for that?
