Yea, it's definitely going to look expensive for you US folks. Not even taking the exchange rate into account, we get absolutely hosed on shipping up here.
I haven't done it in awhile, but fairly regularly used to have stuff shipped to a UPS store just across the border and would drive down to pick it up. Even with having to pay taxes etc. coming across the border, it still ended up significantly cheaper. And a lot of that was just the shipping difference.
I just bought a welder on Black Friday. Would have been free shipping in the US, but instead it was $110USD for shipping to my door. About a 40 mile difference.
