Any one know why a Hurst Competition plus would hang up between 2nd and 3rd? When it does it's locked solid and has to be manhandled back to neutral. Last time it happened I looked underneath and saw that the 2nd gear rod was still engaging 2nd even though the shifter was stuck between 2nd and 3rd. So I stripped it and rebuilt it, all looked fine- same thing. Next I took another one I knew worked well and stripped it and compared parts- same thing, nothing different, worn or broken. So I swapped the bent arm I needed for my application onto the good shifter and rebuilt, regreased it and she works perfect. I'm baffled.

Any chance the rods are touching the transmission tunnel? I had that problem with a Hurst Super Street shifter in my old GP.

No, I'm useing the correct installation kit for an A/G body and there's lots of clearance. In fact the shifter I ended up useing is the correct one for the car also. I just was useing the 68' F body one because there is a nice 3" offset that alows me to use a second gen F body console in the G body. So I swapped that offset arm into this shfter.
