I found a guy that has a T-top kit made by Hurst, everything still new in the box. Supposedly the complete kit sold for $2500 in the 1990s, and I can get it for a fraction of that. He runs a body shop too, so professional install is available.

Do I dare do this?

OK to answer my own question, and for the benefit of anyone else that might come across one of these, Here's the answer:

RUN!!

I talked to Jeff at East Coast T-Tops and he said these kits are worth no more than scrap. He also said there is no way to retrofit a t-top into a g-body and get any kind of decent results. I'm still going to buy the hardtop car I'm looking at, but might have a sunroof installed. His suggestion was a "Stretch Form" 20x32" manual sunroof, and order it thru Rick at Sunroof Doctor in Missouri 417-788-2356

yeh, i would have to agree that simply adding a ttop in this case, to be done safely, would require lots of gusseting (doors, a pillars, etc).

I actually have seen T-Tops added in on a gbody Malibu looked great but dnt remember the site i seen them on.
