I bought a used CD player for my car, help with wires

It would be better to go buy some wire connectors. I forget the name of them, but you can stick both wires in and use heat to shrink the rubber onto the wire to secure them together.

In my Cutlass, the wires were all cut on the car and were connected to the corresponding wires on the pioneer wiring harness. Useless wires are covered with twist on connectors, if there are any left over.

CDs are so 90s.
I'd much rather throw a CD in with MP3s on it than either of my iPods. I have the USB in my glovebox with my iPod attached, but I rarely use it. It takes a few minutes to throw together some songs or albums and burn them to an MP3 CD.

i took off the ash tray and am going to mount the PSP holder down there, it fits perfect and tilted up looks exactly like it came from the factory like that, i will mainly use that, i just need the cd player for the aux jack

your first 8 wires on you list are the speaker wires and the user manual that TBRtat2 listed for you should explain which ones are which.

Black wire = ground
Red wire = acc. turn on power
Yellow wire = Constant power
Blue/White stripe = remote turn on for external amp
Orange/White = illum. which you probably won't need.

Thats cool, you already have the wireing adapter.

IMO, the only way i do it, is to solder all of the conections, then put heat shrink tube on it. That will give you a connestion as good as solid wire. And it will NEVER come apart.

Actually, a while back, these punks tried to steal my radio, but they where not able to undo the wires.
I came out to my car one morning and seen the radio hanging from the wires, and only 3 or 4 of the wires where broke. i got out my soldering iron and 10 min. later and it was good as new.

If you dont want to solder, Try using butt connectors. And if not that, twist the wires really well (nice and tight) then use shrink tube.

Just twisting the wire and wraping with tape, you will probably have the wire come loose over time.

O, and the car side wire color codes reffers to the wire on the main car harness, and may not match the colors on the adapter. (just so you know)

yeah on the adapter it says right on the wire what each one is so no problem there. But i have the acc, constant, ground, and illumination hooked up and the player is not turning on still, could i possibly not have the wires twisted good enough, you can see in the first pic that i have them connected

Soldering is the best way to go, but there is an easier way that should be almost as good. They sell butt connectors that have solder in them, you just need to heat up the connector with a lighter or a heat gun. The only bad thing is that the connectors are pretty expensive.

Verify that you have ground and power with a test light or volt-ohm meter. It may be that everything is hooked up right, but you blew a fuse, or have a short that is keeping you from getting power. I would take the radio, and test it on the car's battery to eliminate the possibility of a broken CD player. It was used after all. I fix other people's botched sh*t often enough that I have used that method more than once.

have you checked the radio fuse (in the main fuse panel)
There should be a fuse on the back of the radio, check it.
And i seen in 1 of the pics that your adapter also has a fuse, check it as well.
