Since i started on it in 07, i finally got to drive my project car. too bad the third mile into the trip something sprayed transmission fluid, so i had to get towed back to the shop. 🙁

oh well.

Im just hoping my transmission is good and not burnt out. it shifted fine, seemed to be ok then i heard something popping under the floor shift and immediately pulled over and checked out the smoke coming off the headers.

didnt really have a chance to see what it would do, because for one, i didnt have a speedometer....

My duals and headers sounded mean when that four barrel opened up, it didnt seem very fast for a 350 though, my 3.1 v6 seemed quicker...

oh well...

Your lucky the transmission fluid didn't get hot enough to catch fire on the exhaust. My old neighbor had that happen on his Wrangler and it wen't up in flames.

Smart move on calling a recker to get it home.

😉 y do you think i pulled over when i did... lol

so this is the cutty you recently aquired correct? already got that 350 in it?

Yep 😀 !!!! I was depressed yesterday when i wrote this, but retrospecting on it, it was a awesome ride, i cant wait to get it so i can drive it more!

lol, it was very convenient to have a parent w/ a tow truck to get it back up to the shop lol

I remember taking my 73 out for a ride one night and I hammered down on it at a light and it blew a clamp on the transmission line. It sprayed traany fluid everywhere! I just thought it was the new stall working, but nope. 9 qts later I was back on the road. that was in 2001 and the transmission is still holding up! 1st engine was a mild 455 and now its a medium 432..... It was rebuilt in 1996! I call her old faithful!
