A year ago I sold my '78 Malibu for a light duty pickup truck. People around here, including my mom, thought I went nuts, but I needed something to do work in and I don't have the money to pay for three vehicles. A few months ago my friend was toying with the idea of getting rid of his '67 Malibu. I thought he was crazy until I realized that his daughter is going to college next year and he will need to offset the cost of tuition and all the other expenses that college incurs. Here are some pictures of both of our beasts five years ago. The first pic was the day after we cruised home from work with both cars. We had the whole parkway egging us on to race. That was the last time the '67 was out on the road. It has sat in storage and has been started up a few times since then. Sometimes you got to sacrifice them for the ones you love.

Hopefully she's getting a degree in something that will give her a nice lifetime income.
