I have an olds 455 bored 30 over. I got it from a guy who used it as a race engine. I only got it because it threw a rod. I'm trying to find the pistons to match the ones I have. The numbers on the pistons are 2278P 030. From my research they are Speed Pro pistons with Olds rods. But I can't seem to find anywhere I can get them from. Thanks for your help.

Try sending an email or calling Federal-Mogul. They make speed pro pistons. They should be able to help you find one. If not try Summit or Jegs.

When you say throw a rod I hope you dont mean it came through the block. Also how long ago did he use it as a race engine? That piston number is probably obsolete and the reason you can't find it. Just buy a set of pistons .030 for a 455 olds and I say your good to go.
No it didn't come through the block but it did come through the oil pan. I'm pretty sure the pistons are discontinued. I found some Keith Black pistons on craigslist for a pretty good price. I think I'll try them.
