I will never buy a Transmission from TCI again.

I bought a TCI 727 for a Mopar project several years ago. It did OK but I wasn't real impressed and converter leaked down excessively if it sat for more than a day.

At the time, it was easier to just order the transmission instead of digging up a buildable core and going thru it. As mentioned in the post above, if your building a project by the time the transmission can be tested there is a good chance the warranty may already be expired. If you do have a problem, even if the trans is still under warranty you will still end up with the shipping and inspection and time hassles associated with having mail ordered something.

Fortunately I have a transmission shop down the road with a very good builder. If I'm not real familiar with the transmission I'll be using I'll research it and spec out any HD parts I want added (like I did on the 46RH I had done for my current project).

Thanks guys sorry for the late response. Been busy with life and work. Currently sitting in my Deer stand waiting for a big Buck to show himself.

I know your pain. I had a $3000 "Level 5" 4L70E from RPM Transmissions die after 6000 miles and 10 passes at the dragstrip in my TBSS. Their response was filled with piss poor customer service and a bad attitude. Thankfully the truck made it home from Drag Week before it gave up the 3-4 clutches. I am doing a 4L80E conversion now.
