Iconic White Cars.

I used to be hooked on black cars - so much so it was a running gag with my friends and family because it is all I owned. KITT, Bandit, Batman, the GN/GNX, the Miami Vice Daytona Spyder, Mad Max's V8 Interceptor, the Bluesmobile, Green Hornet, the A-Team van, and so on - all influenced me at a young age.

But, something has always nagged me about the Yang to that Yin: White cars.

Interestingly enough many of these were race cars - BMW E30 M3, Herbie, Shelby GT350, Bond's Lotus Espirt, Grumpy's Toy, the Miami Vice cocaine white Testarossa, Porsche RSR and Moby D!ck, Super Duty and '69 Trans Ams (plus the Anniversary cars), every late-model Drag Pak Challenger, COPO Camaro, and Cobra Jet Mustang, and it just keeps going.

Kowalski's Hemi Challenger tops my list.

So whether it is absence of all colour or the presence of all colours it is pretty hard to dispute the appeal and contrast of black and white cars.
Wasn’t Kowalski ‘s Challenger an R/T 440?

I know! But when did Hollywood ever let facts get in the way of a good sell job? Goes along with the 3,000 round pistols and rifles IMHO.

These guys report that the supercharger and hemi stuff was all BS. If it was supposed to be blown, there were very few options in those days. Anyway, not all that important in the bigger scheme of things, and I loved the movie regardless. Also Dirty Mary and Crazy Larry.
