I got under the hood 2day and tried to remove my heads from my SBC. unfortunately i had no luck . I couldnt get the last bolt off of my headers. Anyway I never really knew what engine I had. 350 or 327? There are casting numbers on the heads 3832441/ GM 23/ F10/ I may be missing a number, it was pretty dirty. My original intake numbers were 3919803 GM 4. How do I know what I have. Do any of you guys know? What are the specs etc...?

The head number you gave didn't come up on Mortec.com. A 3932441 showed '69-'70 350 76cc chamber. Intake number comes up as 1968 327/350. Your block casting # is on the driver's side behind the head by the bellhousing. The number stamped into the pad ahead of the passenger side head will tell you specifically what the engine came out of and usually what carb and transmission it came with.

i had the same prob with my headers, ya gotta put the 1 or 2 bolts next to the last bolt back in to get the last one out. because all the tention is put on the last bolt. to relieve that tention ya got put another bolt on, one thats easer to get a tool on. thats what i did. then SLOWLY loosen the rockers off and then take off the heads. once ya get thos off itll be alot easer to see the block #. check out this and see what i had to go through viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8966 :blam:
