I'm gonna rant!

Well my final outtake on this is, I've never been a parent, so I've never been in that situation and therefore I won't be quick to judge. Just not the way I was raised. I was raised that if I wanted a car, that's fine, but I have to get a job and pay for it. If I wanted a cellphone, that is fine, but I got a job and paid for it. And if my grades started slipping, I had to quit my job. I was always expected to do chores and to do good in school, and for doing that I got a roof over my head and 3 meals a day. I once asked at dinner "Will I ever get an allowance?" My dad replied, "You eating it." Lmao, all in all I am very happy and grateful for what I have and I'm glad my parents raised me the way they did.

You are not that much younger than me. I'm 22. I only lived with my daddy and there was seven of us. We always had to work for what we had. So to be honest with you I wouldn't be were I was if I didn't have to work for it. You will be a better person in life if you just let everything go on by and not let it bother you. Take it from me it takes hard work to get anywhere in life and your on the right track to doing good and going to high places.

graduated in 85 asked my dad to buy me a mustang 5.oL, he said if you go to university I 'll buy you any mustang 5.0l you want guess what didn't go to university never owned a 5.0L, damn that guy was smart that bet was like safe money in the bank, but now I own a Malibu guess who the smart one is now

I'm gonna join in on the rant here for a minute. I have a 19 year old son that is into cars and especially G bodies. He has an 82 Cutlass that we bought him with 72,000 miles on it. It had been sitting up for a while so it wasn't perfect. As soon as we got the car home I told him that I would help him do anything that he wanted to do to the car but I wasn't doing it for him.
Let's just say that so far, if I didn't do whatever it was that needed to be done, it didn't get done. He drove it with the brakes scrubbing until the rotor broke in two pieces. Long after I told him we needed to put brakes on it. Wouldn't cost him a dime. Just his time and effort of doing the work with me. He later ran the car hot until it quit. Once again, I've given him the opportunity to fix it without it costing him a single cent. All he has to do is take the initiative to get out here and work on it with me.
Guess what..... the car has been sitting there for about 6 months now.
WTF is it with this younger generation?????

Okay, here's my little rant. As a 16 year old high school kid, I deal with teens a lot. I'm at the age where everyone is now getting a car. I've had my Buick for two years now, and I know every nut, bolt, and specification on and of that vehicle. And it's not a great car. It's in rough shape. And the ladies don't come flocking when you tell them you drive a 25 year old Buick.
Now for the ranting! What pisses me off is, kids' parents that go out and buy their dipshit kid a $10,000 car when the kid doesn't know a wrench from their *ss. I may not have a $10,000 car, or even a nice car, but I could tell you anything and everything you wanted to know about my $2,000 little Buick. Meanwhile ask any dipshit driving a new car that their parents bought them how many speed transmission they have (God forbid the displacement or even how many CYLINDERS) their car has, and they'll look at you like you have 4 heads and just pissed your pants.
BUILT NOT BOUGHT, rant over. God, I can't wait until I'm an old man so I can do this all the time...

YOUR CAR IS BOUGHT N PAID FOR, THATS WHAT MAKES IT A NICE CAR... the first car i ever bought was an 85 mazda rx7 with a 13 B rotory engine... car lasted me all of a month before i blew the engine... figured i would try n fix it myself, i popped the hood and what looked back at me might as well been from a planet far far away... come to find out a rotory engine is NOTHING like a sbc... funnest $500 i ever spent, but a lesson learned, STICK TO WHAT U KNOW AND WHAT YOU CAN WORK ON... my next car was a 92 camaro rs... But thats a whole nother story... ENJOY YOUR BUICK, SAVE YOUR PENNIES, AND WHEN THE TIME COMES, GO BBC AND SMOKE ALL THE SHITVICS AND SOOOBAROOOOS

Chris, start charging storage fees, then repo it if they aren't paid. It's what's best for the car. Can't say it'll do anything for the kid  .
