Hi guys,

I am looking at buying a project car. It is a tubbed el camino roller, it has a 6 point cage and a tub in the rear frame. Is there goods and bads to the tubbed elkys? Is there some things i should look into when i go and see the car?

Re: Im looking at a car and want to know what i need to look

The car has Marken sticker in the window. The owner is a friend of mine so I can drop into his shop and ask a few question. El Caminos are rare so he'll know what car I'm asking about. Marken is well known for drag cars and we are now educating him on circle track cars..I'll let you know later today

another thing I just remembered there is 80 or something 4 door Lemans at a local recycling yard that has the front clip still on the car and I think it's in good shape. I don't know if the body lines work or if it fits. The owner is another friend of mine so I get decent prices and whatever fits in my pockets is free..

Re: Im looking at a car and want to know what i need to look

The owner at Marken knows the guy and the car. He was surprised the guy parted it out since it was a fast car so it looks like it's a good buy.. The owner of the El Camino also has a nice Hurst Olds that's in Marken's calender, here is a picture of the guy's Hurst Olds

You better have alot of money if your gonna buy that 'Elky for sure, looking at the pics, your gonna need a complete drivetrain and they are pricey. I would also broaden your search and look at other options as well. Either way, it looks like it's set up nice. Good luck and if you get it, keep us posted 8)
