Hey everyone. I thought that I would say hi. I just bought a 1983 Pontiac Grand Prix. It's my first Grand Prix since the big '77 I used to own. Anyway, it has the V6 in it right now. How hard is it to swap it to a V8? I figured that there would be plenty of used parts available to help with a swap when I get ready. My '83 has only 80,000 miles on it, hardly any rust. It really used to belong to a grandma.

Anyway, I am a high school teacher working on my PhD in Education so I can become an administrator.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site!

haha, i wish i had a teacher that liked cars.... im a junior in h/s what do you teach? lol, do we need to use grammer and spelling on here?

Nice . . . I love the 73-77 Grand Prix (Prixes?) as well as the G-Bodies.

My next car with hopefully be a 1974 Grand Prix SJ with a 455 built to 455 SD specs and hood scoops from the 73 GTO. I want it to look like the SD455 was ordered from the factory.

welcome to the site, check around the site about the swap, lots of guys have done it so the info is on here somewhere

Thanks guys. I teach English and Spanish, but don't worry about grammar. When I type fast, I make mistakes too.

I am looking forward to talking with everyone on here. I was glad to find out about this site. I plan on driving my Grand Prix for now and hopefully soon do the swap to V8.

I also hope to one day have a 74-77 Grand Prix again with the 455. My brother had one too and we had a blast with them.
