Im trying to get my monte alittle faster. It was swapped 305 to 350 with a K&N intake, 4 barrel double pumper holly carb I believe. The trans was swapped along with the motor dont know the brand but my grandpa said it was better than the original. Posi traction and stock exhaust. I mean its pretty fast but just wondering what else i could do to make it faster?

Firstly, welcome to the forum from KY. That's a pretty nice looking Monte.

You have alot of unknowns with the drivetrain, more digging on your behalf to find out more specs would help us to recommend good advice.

What are your plans for it??? Daily driver, street & strip, etc.

For a run of the mill sbc 350, if the budget is there....maybe look at a topend kit. That would allow swapping the heads, intake, cam, with the associated items to wake it up!!! Just as a reminder, if it's to be a cruiser or daily, stick with a dual plane intake to keep the powerband lower in the RPM's.

A set of headers to replace the factory manifolds is always a decent upgrade! I have a set of coated shorty headers for sale 😉. In addition to that, swap the single exhaust for a true dual, or at least a split dual system to allow the 350 to exhale- 2-1/2" is plenty big for pipes.

There are tons of other ways to gain some ponies, suspension upgrades to allow the car to handle which also allows the power to be transferred to the pavement better!

Others will likely chime in. Hope this helps to get the ticker working in pepping up that small block.

Thanks i appreciate it I have an Oldsmobile hurst/olds as well but its junked real waste of a car.. But i did for get to mention it has true dual exhaust as well. Its a daily driver at the moment. Ill get a hold of my grandpa to get the specifics on the car and get bsck to you. I really appreciate the reply

welcome to the forum!

like injectedcutty said, what you intend to use it for will depend on the direction you go.if you don't really plan on alot of freeway driving, a gear change in the rear end would be a huge difference... more than likely you have 2.56 :1 gears in it now, and switchng to 3:42 or 3.73:1 would really get you going quick off the line, but kill your top end. see if you can find out if anything has already been done to the engine, and what your cfm rating is on the carb. too often, I've seen guys putting huge #cfm carbs on a stock engine, and can't figure out why it's slower than it was...

there's a great bunch of guys in here, and a huge wealth of combined knowledge to help! the only thing that will limit you would be your budget!

Really its a daily driver regular roads and freeway 35 to 75 mph. My speedometer stops at 85 but pretty sure i get to to 115 125 easy. Honestly im an amateur in the car game ill look into what I got going on and give you guys more info on my behalf. But if you guys have any beginner info that would do great as well. Anything and everything helps
