I have no intentions of building a Olds 3.8 but I had a guy ask me the other day "if someone were to build a 3.8 up, how much HP can you bring out'a it?" I find the idea kinda OxyMoreOn'ish but still a good question. :?:

Intake and exhaust would be a good start but I doubt you would make more than 20hp with both.
I'm sure you ment the Buick 3.8 that was in the 80's cars, Chevy and Buick had the only 3.8's that I'm aware of.

I am aiming for around 200 on mine. But this is a carb turbo'd 3.8 out of a turbo monte. Shouldn't be too hard to get 25 more HP over the stock 175. I did a little head porting and am getting a new down pipe built for it. Then I can turn up the boost. 3.8's are better than people think if anyone would spend time on them.

Well the quick answer is not much or not enough. Now you could buy a turboed 3.8 and rebuild/swap. Then you'd be hot roddin

Olds had a 3.8L through the 80's. maybe they were made by Buick i don't know.

Buick motors had the distributor up front.
