I really screwed the car up hitting a Pa pothole.(If any has a set of ralley rims ,I need 2, check the classifieds fro my wtb ad)

While doing repairs the wheels in my mind started turning, always a bad sign!

The short version is, the Wagon has an aftermarket 1" bar.
It hangs down by it's own mounting bracket leaving the "stock" holes unused. Hmmmm......

So I grab a 7/8 bar, fish it in, looks like it will work.

It does, looks kinda crazy but the car is really flat in the curves and the car was no slouch before.

Now I want to find a bigger single bar to replace the 2.

   WOW, I have never seen or heard of that before!. Good thinking.

Yeah! Great idea!

I need to do that just so I can use more junkyard parts and keep my budget low!

You say your wagon had the lower brackets factory? Do you have special lower control arms for those brackets?

I guess my question is, what all parts do I need to find to use the dropped wagon bar setup?

Hey!

I just looked at your picture again; do you have a Flowmaster on the right and a turbo muffler on the left?

You are more of a budget guy than me and BUDDY I'M CHEAP!!

What does it sound like? LOL!! 😛

You have it backwards on the swaybar mounts.

The lower one is aftermarket, the plate is designed to bolt inside the LCA with a spacer.

When I was boxing them, I just bolted them in place and then welded
them in.

Boy they were nice and pretty before winter!

The Flowmaster will be going away, they are loud but atleast they don't flow well!

Although you can tell how different the car sounds with a different muffler by moving 6 feet in either direction behind the car.

I have a trick in store for the exhaust also.

Okay, so the aftermarket bar came with drop brackets and that is what you have it on?

Where did you buy the bar? And it came in a kit with the drop brackets?

Sorry for the confusion; I'm just trying to straighten it all out in my head...

The first bar was on the car when I got it, but the previous owner has become a friend so I will see if he remembers where he got it.Addco comes to mind but I will double check

I did some quick and dirty math, adding the second bar makes the front/rear bar ratio ( front is 36mm hollow ) alot closer to the cars front /rear weight distribution.

That would explain why the car feels so much better now.

That looks a little crazy but I do share your appreciation for tight handling and HUGE sway bars 🙂

Check this bad boy out:

Not sure what year/model the car is but that HUGE bar fits all the 84-87 Gbodies.

This is the 7/8 stock bar compared to the 1 3/8 bar

This is the 1 3/8 bar installed.
