I am trying to install a factory set of gauges. Does anyone know how to hook up the wire that runs from the distributor to the tach? I know where to place it on the distributor but I'm not sure on the cluster side

Have you checked out the Oldsgmail conversion site?

Another good thing to have is a CSM (Chassis Service Manual) for stuff like this.

Tach input is number 14 on connector number 1.

If you want to add the tach wire like the factory did running through the bulkhead connector behind the fuse block, you'll need to get a Metri Pak 280 connector. GM used the Metri Pak 280, 430 and 630 sizes in the bulkhead connetor.

Crimp it to your wire and plug it into the empty slot directly across from where your stock tach wire running from the distributor goes and everything should work fine.

tach is connector 2 plug 14
