I need to know what I need to get when I pull my inteak off, some people have told me that when a motor gets rebuilt with an aluminum inteak that they get rid of the vallypan and have just a gasket. Then some people tell me that I should get a vally pan and put it back on, I know the vally pan holds the hot oil, but what should I get do I get another vally pan and a gasket? Or do I get just a gasket or just a vally pan, please help I'm lost and the motor is a 350 olds thanks guys!

The valley pan was designed to keep the hot oil off the bottom side of the intake. I would use the valley pan and pay special attention in making sure that it seals well.

I would think the 1 piece design would be a more simple installation but I honestly can't tell you from experience, sorry 8)

I would get rid of it. They are a one piece all metal gasket. They are for iron intakes. They can and have been used on aluminum but the mr. gasket 2 piece set is better in my opinion. Dont use the two end rails. Use a thick bead of RTV instead.

So get the 2 peice gasket or 2 peice pan??

2 gaskets they will be just like a small block chevy, one for each side of the intake.

Didn't you switch back to the valley pan after we installed the "SBC style" gasket on your 455 :?:

Yea I did cuz the pan is best suited for iron intake manifolds. And we were trying to figure out where the water was coming from. Think i changed gaskets about 5 times on that piece of sh*t.
