That's what I thought... A couple of prongs on each side somehow tells me it's some kind of connector. Maybe not..

Good catch. Kids, don't do this at home...
I knew somebody was going to say something.....not great I know, leftover from about 12 years agao when I actually used the car to haul a trailer out camping and needed a pigtail for the lights. I actually intend to rewire front to back and trunk in future, I don't like the factory harness with all its brittle and easily broken wiring...
