nope, it's clever bait and switch but the image does have text that states the image may vary from the actual product.

i dont think you should be allowed to use a "generic" image since holley has an image to the correct item. again this is why i verify part numbers, to really make sure that i'm getting the right part. and they do also have the mfr # on the page and it is up to the consumer to check these things before buying. as a seller you have an obligation (in my opinion) to clearly show and tell what the part actually is. i cant imagine why they would use the wrong image other than the people who put the catalog together are collectively less intelligent than a cat turd.

blatant would be them using that image without the text while using the part number to the hi tek air cleaner but sending you the 10" round air cleaner instead. legally they are not liable for failure to make sure it's the correct part as they have clearly given you the part number and they state in the image that it may vary from the actual product. so they are advertising the correct air cleaner but fudging by using an image of a different one with a disclaimer. not sure what the point in the misleading picture is since the item will just be returned for a refund anyway so it's not like they're making money on this.

I didn't mean it's false advertising as it would 'legally' be defined as, I mean they deliberately put an image of a much better product knowing full well people will be taken. Their disclaimer about 'image may vary from the actual product' gets them legally off the hook but it's still BS in my book because most people are going to logically assume they're buying the item shown the picture ( who wouldn't!? ), but are being 'warned' that the one they recieve may be a BIT different due to the manufacturers changing the design a bit, such as having a bigger dimple or a slieghtly different curve or something.

Now if they have a free return policy and they're doing this, then they're just stupid!
