Is this an "i" sore, or an "i" want?

Mitsubishi is supposedly testing the electric version of their "i" Kei car in the US to gauge interest. It is sold in it's home market with a 660cc gas engine, and can seat 4. It is also 10 inches shorter than a MINI.

Once again this is posted for discussion, not because I want one ( unless it's cheaper than $10k and great on gas...err...amps?). I do think the future is going to require a viable alternative to gasoline, but not because of the farce that is Global Warming. We do need to find a way to become independent of other nations for our energy supplies by finding a cheaper, renewable alternative before oil crashes our economy permanently and we have no capital to develop a replacement. The seemingly permanent state of instability in the nations who possess the lion's share of the oil reserves (Middle East, Russia, South America, etc.)means we need to find a way to take back the power they now have over us before they destroy us.

eyesore personally

I think you made me blind!I rather get 2 miles to the gallon than be seen in that turd!LOL!!

eyesore, but i do support the electric part....get off fossil fuels...the sun has all the energy we could ever use and no pollution.

It could be worse..... it could be:

Now THAT is an eyesore!

Personally, the "i" doesn't appeal to me. A little too jelly-bean looking for my taste.

Well, "i" don't really want one either unless it's cheap to own and run and not too horrible to drive. Then again, I imagine it is probably pretty bad to drive on American roads which are not in perpetual gridlock like Tokyo. "i" would probably like it for parallel parking though, but then again "i" could just get a smart if that was a huge concern.

The Tata Nano on the other hand, is so cheap as to be almost disposable by comparison. You wait though, if the Democrats get their way with fuel efficiency standards, all you will be able to get is a pregnant jellybean on 4 wheels. If nothing else, it is VERY space efficient and light. You could almost imagine the Nano being a state-issued transportation pod in an ultra-green totalitarian state.

You know I thought of something today. The Dodge dealership next to my office has brand new Nitro's for $11k. Now figure this, 4x4, V6, 4 doors and seats what ... five or something at something like 18 or 19mpg? Also it has: automatic, CD player, blah blah blah ...

Now maybe it doesn't get the good gas mileage as some of these tiny "gas sippers" ... but honestly it's almost as good.

Look at this: If you have to drive 25 miles to work each way for six days a week (that's 300 a week) at $4.00 per gallon, in a Nitro it will cost you around $63.00, in a car like say the Honda Fit (avergering say 32 mpg), it would cost you $37.50.

Now that comes up to $25.00 more in gas a week (around $1,200 per year) but personally I think the $1,200 is worth it for something that is faster, more room, more versitle, and 4wd.

Sometimes I think this whole "small" trend is just a scam. If you shop around you can find some awesome deals out there right now that if you do the math really make sense. Ya know?

the average life span of a car is around 10 years
so that would be 12,000$ which would basically pay for buying a little roller skate car.

with that said, the Isore of a car, at 2 - 4000$ if they sold it for that, Id buy one.
Driving around an Ef getting 40mpg city made me love fuel mileage in a daily driver haha.

Jus imagine how fast it would buy it self, you could buy a brand new one every year and not care.
