So i have 2 Cutty's..86 Salon 307 and 81 Brougham with 231. The 231 has a TH350 bolted up to it and the 307 has a 200Metric. Would it be better to swap them or would it even matter? Both motors are bone stock

That does seem bass ackwards. Whether the difference would be worth the swap would depend on your driving style I would think?

actually not really,i've never seen a 307 backed by a 200c,but looking at my cutlass factory manual,it says that they could come like that as an option.Either a 2004r which is what most have or a 200c,i do think its weird though

depends on how you look at it. The 231 carburated doesn't have enough *ss to move its self so they put a th350 with a low first gear in it and no overdrive so it could pass other cars. The 307 has the 200R4 because it had enough *ss to move its self but needed the overdrive to improve gas mileage.

maybe it was all the guy who bought the car could afford for options when it was brand new
