I broke a sleeve of my radiator where the the drain plug is...thinking about jb weldin it back on...anyone have any experience using this on a temperature sensetive engine part...I've heard it can tolerate up to 400 degreez

I used it to patch the crankcase on a go-kart engine and it has held up fine. Try it and see and start saving for a new radiator.

I have used JB Weld in the past and the stuff works great. The oil pan on my old Monza was held together for years with the stuff.

There's an urban legend around my area about that stuff. Some guy supposedly broke an axle at the drag races here. He had one more pass to make for the night. So he JB Welded it and the car made it down the track.

must have been a real long nite ...

"Like metal, J-B WELD can be formed, drilled, ground, tapped, machined, filled, sanded, and painted. It stays pliable for about 30 minutes after mixing, sets in 4-6 hours, and cures fully in 15-24 hours."

Wow, how did I not think of that? lol Myth busted.

I'm gonna try it tomorrow I was just worried about the heat tolerace since the radiator is heat sensetive but 400 degrees sounds good...if my radiator gets 400 degrees I got a whole nother problem on my hands...lol

I plugged a hole in my tractors radiator with qwik set jb weld 4 years ago and it still is holding up.I did take the radiator out and cleaned and dry the area as best I could. It could work for you probably till you go to drain it again.
