ok ladys so here we go most of you that go in chat know about this coming build but.....i have started so the the build in a nutshell is a 68 olds 350 with 455 heads just got my crank done so its time to begin. slammed the cam in last night honed the cylinders this morning still waiting on bearings to come in then can really put it together so that being said heare are some pics to gander at n starting to test fit top end
got a little carried away wanted to have a finished look
I love the look of cast heads (color paint) on the black block. I did this on the Caddy and it looked great. A friend who builds engines has done it on several of his. Ported cut big blocks heads are supposed to work real well on a 380ci stroker small block. Especially on a zero decked block with flat tops. Intakes I am a fan of clean aluminum, the right silver with a clear that don't yellow or black. Naturally the whole contrast thing with wires & cap, headers, valve covers or whatever can make it look sharp N clean or shitt. Most car guys that do motors and don't do body work etc do bad in this area. Recently there was a post on here where a guy did a 455 Olds in a Cutty that looked great.
if your using a flat tappet cam, they state that you remove the inner springs for break in...just a thought before you fully assemble that monster, might be easier to do with the heads off since you dont have to worry about the valves dropping
