Junk Yard Finds Malibu and more!

The other day took a trip to the yard.

I tried to offer money for the whole thing, but damn junk yard wont sell it, thought about taking the entire front end and trunk and just body working the stuff to get ahead for a malibu project, but was too lazy, half off would have been a good deal!

and unfortunately i didnt buy these at the time

but now i know better on the rims, cause they look good and will fit with rear brake setups on gbody

well found the whole set sitting around the yard, i took one and put it on a camaro to see if they clear the ls1 brakes, and they fit and clear, didnt know what they were until i came back on the site and saw people were calling them zq8s did more research and noticed they were worth about 600 or so... could have gotten them for around 60-120 total for all four. when i went back to get them, three were gone, the only one left was the one i hid in the camaro section!

gonna go back and keep checking, i promised another member i would find him a set along with mine, so he is first then me... check out that other thread, these look good for a factory style wheel, and i gotta come off these 22s

i gave the guy who moves the cars into the lot, my cell and bought him lunch, told him if he finds something good for me sitting in the back lot before they put them out, to let me know, so i can be there first thing the morning they r set on the lot, thats how i "found" the malibu... he has called me twice since then, but with paying some bills dont have money to play around with right now!

Would you be willing to pull a set of the LS1 rear abument brackets, parking brake assemblies and cables for my rear disc brake upgrade. I have the C6 calipers and i would buy the rotors new. I haven't had time to go to any local salvage yards lately....

The '80 Malibu coupe looked all original, and pretty nice...too nice to crush. What a shame that they wouldn't consider selling the whole car. Even the wagon looked like it was all there and also fairly original. Interesting yard. You don't see such good stuff down here anymore. But again, we're comparing Calif. to Florida.

I wonder what they get for the S-10 spindle and dual piston caliper set-ups?

i dont know, but they had quite a few s10s, even with the rear brakes on em, but i dont like those rear brake... i keep a junk yard list up to date and take it with me on my runs, ill check their price and get back to you...

for some reason they wont sell the cars, not even as is, has something to do with their licensing or something and lien sale stuff/or paperwork
