Are any of you familiar with the Texas Car cutlure in and around Houston where they call thier cars "slabs" moslty cadillac models, some buick, lincolns and other big body cars....you can check some out on rollin84z.com....in my opinion alot more executed and elegantly done compared to some DONKS...well i've been playing around with some ideas in my head and did this lil rendion on MS paint.

1985wa3.jpg

It's a Cutlass Brougham, with a E&G Classics Cadillac Grill, the bumper cover obviously would have to be modified to fit it and i think the grill would have to have a lil slant to it. you can't have the grill without the flying woman hood ornament, it's a must on a slab. the front headlights are replaced with one piece assemblies, in a modified bezel. then I would get the plastic molding from a 90's De'Elegance cadillac and place it all around the car above the chrome rocker trim. i think that's a nice touch...then out back, i'd get a E&G classics 5th wheel w/hubcap center, some belts and buckles out back to lay down the trunk and maybe one of those wheels that sits above the trunk like some cadillacs had... the you gotta have the "elbows" the 84 super poke rims, mounted on some vogue tyres. and then i threw a lil "vogue" gold and white pinstripe along the side of the car.....i think it can be done, anybody like this idea?

Nay!

I do like the one piece headlight idea though.

I say get your whole car covered in one good coat of the black primer you've been using, and you'll reconsider.

lol, yeah it's just an idea, say if i get a clean low mileage cut that doesn't require anything done to it..just to add those on

Nice artwork. You obviously have some skills to develop a rendering that good in MS paint.
Having worked at a Buick dealer thru the 70's and 80's, I've seen my share of Vogue Tyres, E&G grilles, padded Landau Tops, side Landau Irons, stick-on wide stainless moldings, big hood ornaments, simulated convertible tops etc.,etc. IMO, some things are better left as memories.

Good paint skills, but the thought of building a car in that style makes me want to ...uhh.. :puke:

I recently saw a late model caddy with those white walls plus a yellow stripe and they looked really cool. I dont know who makes them but I was impressed. Not so sure on the grill or other stuff you have in mind but if you like it ...have at it.

I just saw a cutlass the other day with a chrome bird or angel (couldn't tell) hood ornament like that. It was the ugliest thing ever, don't do it. If you want it classic looking with all the chrome, the cutlass front looks better than the regal IMO. I like the wire wheels, just don't run them with any real hp

To tell you the truth, if you've got a nice paint job and all new chrome that came on the cutlass supreme, you've got a damn nice car that'll look better than any mismatched slab on the road

thanks, yeah I've never even played around with photoshop or any other program like that, they seem too complicated, i've always just messed around on MS Paint, and I guess after a couple years, I've just gotten good at it, I've done some pretty cool things using MS Paint. so you've seen your fair share of all those items huh? that's pretty cool! what did you specifically do when you worked there?
