Just bought 84' Grand Prix what trans?

This is my first post so bear with me. My GP is a 3.8, i was just wondering what trans and how big the rear is in my car.

If the trans is a 3-speed, than it's either a THM-200 or a TH-350.
If it's a 4-speed, than it's a 200-4R.

Rear end will be a 7.5 with presumably some horse sh*t gear ratio.

200R4 not avail til 85.

rear? yep, something crazy like a 2.41

x2 on the TH200, it has been behind every 3.8L G body I have seen from the factory.

My '83 Cutlass wagon had a 3.8 and a TH350 from the factory.
My '81 Buick wagon has a 3.8 and a Metric 200. So it could be either.
