Just bought a 1980 Cutlass and have a couple questions

Hey,

I just picked up a 1980 Cutlass with 67,000km for $500 bucks and love the car. I do have a couple questions though. Does any one know what trans this car will have? It's has a 305 so I assume a 200 something?

Probably a 200C if it's a three-speed, 200-4R if it's an overdrive box.

No 200-4R's back then...
It's either a Metric 200 or a TH350.

My 80' has a 350th in it with the 4.3l v8

I don't think the 80 had a 305, more like the 4.3 V8 and a metric 200 transmission.

It won't be a metric 200. If it is a 305 it has a chevy bolt pattern, most likely 3 speed would be th350...

but if it's stock I don't think you have a 305, I think you have a 307 -> 3 speed = th200.

Unless you have the very rare universal bolt th350
