I am glad to have found this site, I have a '79 El Camino with around 300,000 on it after using it to do construction work. Needless to say it is tired and needs a total rebuild from the gound up. I want to slip in a LS with automatic and remove the tired 327 Vette engine with turbo 350. The 327 is getting rebuilt to go in my 56 Belair. Can't wait to start.

That's cool my 78 has over 300,000 miles also. Just re did it last summer.

Welcome! I had an el camino for a few days 😀 Took the engine out and put it in an old jag and resold it
