Hey, Electrical Gurus! Need Some Wire Loom Advice.

I did both of my cars with split loom that has the blue stripe. Its sold at just about every boat marina in my area by the foot. A wide assortment of sizes. Pretty much in stock 95% of the time.
To finish the loom off so it looks close to factory I scoured the lock junkyards for T fittings in all different sizes and the other type that have an opening on one side that you can run wires out of without another piece of loom. Also the little snap together pieces that go on the ends. After cleaning them with Simple Green I spray them with SEM Landau Black. They come out like new. You can see how they look in this picture. Might not be factory fresh but Im happy with the way it looks.

Just to add, I also pulled some odd sizes of split from late model trucks at the local yards. I used it on the heater hose on the wagon where it could rub on the serpentine bracket. I also used split on the battery and ground cables where they cross over the SS AN lines going to the transmission cooler. Figured it couldnt hurt.

That's good to know, the only question I have is what's the temperature rating.
 
Blue stripe was designed specifically for marine and emergency vehicle use. Good to at least 275 F.

Cursory check shows that most, if not all, the clips/clamps and wire Tees are available through aptiv. But there's VERY few tees under the hood, and most clamps are end clamps. The routing clips are usually on the headlamp harness and maybe one or two if that.

mikester your routing looks great. But my main concern now is to ensure I have the correct sized conduit where needed. I'm going to likely do this again one of these days and need to ensure it's all put together the way it should be.

Since neither one of my cars are bone stock I used the appropriate size looms for the amount of wires run. Not original by any stretch of the imagination but I was going for a nice clean look. Noting worse than seeing wires loose and hanging all over the place.
I tried to get clean metal factory clamps to mount the looms but most looked pretty nasty even after glass beading them. Not used on many cars besides G bodies. In the end I used some P clamps (painted silver cad) with the rubber on the wagon only because I had to route the wires along the firewall in a certain path for the crate motor. In the end that worked in my favor. The loom covered some unused holes in the firewall that were put there by previous owners. At least I was able to use GM screws. LOL
