K&N Flo Control with cowl hood install (pics)

If you don't know, I threw the Cutlass together to get out at the end of last season. One thing that bugged me was no air cleaner.

I also did a manifold/ carb swap that got me to this point.

So I measured, alot, made a cardboard template, measured, tweeked etc etc.
After much research it looked like the K&N Flo Control was my only option that would work with the 3.5" cowl.
After more research decided to give it a try. My thoughts are most picked up a bit using one, some had no change.
Also some reported they ran better with the cowl blocked when not running a air cleaner. The thought the air is too turbulent without a air filter. We will see.
Even if it was break even , I will deal with that. Being filtered matters more to me.

Anyway, here it is installed.

She is tall. A sabre saw made quick work of the fiberglass hood.

Last is the "money" shot. I stuck a couple drop lights under the hood for the shot. The camera is in the car on the dash and taking the picture threw the windshield. It looks like it is touching the hood, it's not. I just can't get a better angle with the camera.
