Ok guys,I know some of you guys are wanting some or want to know how to build them.I have been working with Larry Bush of ClassicLEDs and we have came up with a kit to build LED tail lights.Larry built my LED boards and I did all the work to put them In and get them going which was not that hard or bad to do. I didn't tear my tail lights apart before He built my boards so mine are a inch shorter than yours would be,the boards will be 3x10".

You can contact Larry at [email protected] or check out his web site at http://www.classicleds.com but he doesn't have these on his site. You have to pop out your tail lights and separate the lens from the bucket(they are epoxied but not as hard to come apart as you would think) I used a razor knife to start it then used a smaller flat screwdriver to easily slide/pry the lens from the bucket (you can hear and feel when the epoxy lets go)

Once that is done and apart you have to cut the buckets devider for the LED board to set flat(I used a dermal and cut off wheel) once cut you have to silicone the bucket so the holes are closed and let the silicone set up. When the silicone is set up you can place the board in even it in the slot and silicone the LED board in. Once the silicone is dry and the board is set I drilled a hole below the factory bulb hole and siliconed the wires(the factory plugs will go into the buckets without the bulbs)

Now it's time to put the lens and bucket back together, throw the lens and bezel together(bezel has pegs that the lens will go in). Run a bead of silicone around the bucket and drop it into the pegs and use the nuts to bolt it all back together. Now they can go back into the car and can be wired up.They can be hard wired or like myself be wired with a 3 wire plug so you can unclip them so the tail light can be removed easily.

Now with some pics 😀

Here is a pic of The LED on the drivers side and factory bulbs on the Pass

Both LED running lights

Both LED brake lights

A video on Hazard with LED in drivers side and factory bulb in pass. side (you can see how the bulbs dim and the LEDS are just on and off)

Larry is definitely top notch. He built a sequential set for my 78 Camino, the first for a 78. These are a must have upgrade!

Rob, look under build threads ★78 El Camino★ or look under my posts, think there's another thread. Youtube 78 el camino l.e.d. taillights. Like I said, Larry is top notch and when I get to working on the cutlass again I gotta have a set for it. :hijack:

Larry was top notch to work with! I'm not sure what he is going to sell these for so if anyone that wants some you'll have to contact him.He built these for me and I know there is a market for them so I worked with him to start marketing them.

Yea those are sequential tails and Larry can do these that way as well, they would cost more money though. I'd like to see some done but with only 6 LEDs wide not sure how the would look.
