Finally got my Camaro dual snorkel set-up installed on my 87. Can definitely feel a seat of the pants difference over the single stock air cleaner. Still need to make a bracket/brace for the left hand (driver) side where the flexible hose meets the duct. Unfortunately the Dual Snorkel has the flat lid which only allows for a shorter filter. I'd swap lids but i like the 5.0 Liter HO decal!

Also had all the smog/vacuum/AIR lines reconnected and the A/C lines and condenser from a 91 Camaro installed to accommodate the GMPP serpentine kit. It's a little bit cleaner not having AC hoses and lines running across the front of the engine bay but the spaghetti of check valves and smog lines offsets that. The goal was to try and wring every bit of horsepower from the 305 but keep it streetable as a daily driver AND CA smog legal. Wasn't the most cost effective route or build but how boring would life be if the answer to everything was dropping a 350 in? (Plus i got over that with the 383 stroker i dropped into my 71 El Camino)...

very impressive!! 8)

looks very nice. I want to do the same with mine but I am having trouble locating breather at a decent price.

where did u get that

I run the same setup on my 355 powered Cutlass Supreme. You can use the taller single snorkel lid from your original setup on that base and it works just fine. It even clears the hood with a Performer intake. As for the sticker, I believe Year One reproduces it and it would be found in the Camaro section as this setup was available on 83-86 Camaros with the L69 option.

yeah thanks guys, i've been very pleased. i had the 200R4 rebuilt w/grand national internals and a 3.73/posi put in when i first got the car so you can now chirp the tires in 2nd and sometimes 3rd! i went with the XE262 cam and wondering if that was too mild but i spoke to the Trick Flow heads guys and that's what they recommended. the idle is relatively smooth w/ a slight lope to it.

i think ramairbox sells replicas of the ducts but the flexible hoses are near impossible to find esp in good condition. i scoured craigslists across the country using crazedlist.org (be careful, it'll lead you spending more $$$ due to finding stuff you couldn't before) and found a complete setup from a guy selling camaro parts in georgia (also found both the GMPP serp kit and full hotchkis performance kit still in box through crazedlist too). i have an extra dual snorkel air cleaner that was cleaned up and repainted. i'll list it in the want ads when i get off my *ss one of these days.

85 Cutlass Brougham, did you fabricate a brace for your ducting? i haven't yet on the drivers side ducting so it's kinda flapping in the wind right now...

devildog214, post some pix of your build when you can. i think i've read all six or seven 305 build articles that are floating around the internets about 50x each by now and would love to see some other builds...

Hey thanks you can check out fquick.com/devildog214 or my cardomain page. I finished the paintjob last july. Not really much done yet. Typical flowmaster catback, eddy performer. The guy before me gutted the cat, and removed the a.i.r, smog pump, egr. Ive got some edelbrock tes headers in the mail. Next im 100% decided on the xe262. and even farther down the road im thinkin these trick flow heads, probably the ones your using? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-3 ... refilter=0 Its hard out there for us 305s ive probably looked at every guide there is.

close on the heads but i went with the 006s http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TFS-3 ... refilter=0. the 006s along with beefier springs allow for a little more lift, just in case i wanted to go with the XE268. but like i said i'm pretty happy with how everything works together for power and driveability. when you get everything together don't forget the fuel pump. after i did everything i still had the stock fuel pump and it seemed a touch off (rough in some spots and flat spots when accelerating) but i swapped out the fuel pump for a 130 gph Holley and everything is sweet now... i'll PM you a list of all the mods i ended up making in case you're interested...
