Hello my dad purchased a set of l98 corvette heads and I have been told they are the reverse coolent designe? If they are the reverse coolent desigin do i have to use a reverse coolent water pump or can I used the stock standard flow water pump. Thank you

l98 heads are not reverse flow heads

^^What he said^^. The heads are standard cooling. The water pumps on the L98 (as well as most engines of that era) are reverse rotation because of the serpentine belt system. The standard pump works with V-belt system. You can use those heads on any SBC except '92-'97 LT1. Hope that clears it up.

The reverse cooling is referring to the '93-'97 LT1 motors where the coolant goes through the intake and heads before the block, instead of through the block first and then heads and intake like a traditional SBC.

A reverse rotation waterpump is just for the serpentine set ups like mentioned above.

Thanks guys truly appricated merry christmass.

aren't those the same heads they used on the zz4 engine?
