it may have been TBI. I bought out of a jimmy. So would i have to have it machined?

If it was tbi then it never had a mechanical pump on it. The rod getting stuck could be from the block never being machined there or rust build up(prolly not likely). You most likely don't want to hear it but your best bet at this point would be to switch to an electric pump.

I second that.

My only hope is that you didn't hammer it into the eccentric on the end of the camshaft...oh man would that cause problems.

I'd go with an electric fuel pump. They are relatively easy to install with good directions.

Hey Lucy........We've got a problem 🙁

thats okay. I got the rod out with some vice grips and then sealed it up with the block off plate. Just have to get an electric pump then. anyone want a machanical pump? lol

If that bolt isn't in there, then it's not open all the way. Otherwise, you'd have oil spewing like a geyser.

If you just used a wrench to tap the rod in, I doubt you did any damage to the block. If it does start seeping oil either around the hole of where the pump would normally bolt to, then just put on a block-off plate on the pump housing of the block and then run a bolt in the hole.

I wouldn't do any maching like that to an assembled engine. You'd have metal shaving running thru your bearings no matter how careful you were. Just run the eletric pump.

Thanks for all the help. I got an electric pump today so tomorrow that'l be goin in.
