I've seen a few cars on here with the led dash bulbs. Do you guys remember the part number for it? Also does anybody know if they have led bulbs for the rear lights. I'm not talking bout the conversion kit but just the actual bulbs.

Well, I don't think it would have the desired effect because the lighting in these cars is indirect whereas it is direct back lighting on newer cars. It will have to reflect on the blue surface of the cluster then refract back to the gauge, so the LED's may not have the desired color once they are installed. If you want to try it, get some LED's off Ebay and go nuts. You may need a resistor in line though to cut down the voltage or something. It all depends on the requirements of the LED's you use.

I got some blue led's from advance auto awhile back. They are direct replacement for the 194 bulbs. I put them in my aftermarket guages. I'm not sure if they still have them though, they were starting to clearance them out.

The white ones might be a good idea to make it brighter. I wish our cars were back lit like my Nissan is because I want to do a purple backlight with red pointer theme like a Mk IV VW Jetta has. I always thought that looked really cool.

My white face guages with a red pointer turn into blue face guages with a purple pointer. lol

www.whiteguages.net has LEDs that plug right in to the stock dash sockets, just like a normal 94 bulb. $8 and change each tho...kinda pricey.

There is a way to get brighter gauges with out leds.Just paint the inside of the cluster white or a sliver it works great.
