Just finished changing out all the exterior lights (exc. headlights) to LED's on the Cutlass. They're plenty bright and I think it was worth it. Of course I got 2 EL12 electronic flasher units because without them they'd just stay on, since they don't draw enough current to trip the flasher breaker etc. Finally got the hazards working normally. (Make sure your EL12 is grounded properly!!!) But I have the following two issues, and theories, wondering if anyone has run into these....

1. The EL12 electronic turn signal relay clicks constantly when the power is on (ign. switch in run) .... I have read that a worn out turn signal switch in the column could be the culprit here, that worn almost-touching contacts inside could leak just enough current to make this happen. Short of hacking together some cobbled up relay system, or breaking into the column and replacing the switch (bleh) anyone have a fix? The thing clicks at the same speed, and the signals work as expected, flashing in time with the clicks.... Maybe if I load that relay circuit with a small ballast it'd take it out.

2. When I turn on the parking lights (and headlights, since well that turns them on also) the front corner turn signals stop working, while the bumper ones continue to work, but slightly dimmer.... Just a question of the power in the circuit going into the parking lights and not the signals? I dunno. Not super critical but it'd be nice to figure this one out. maybe adding more of a load into the parking lamps, too or something.....

open for suggestions.

The side markers do not flash per se, so much as they go out when the front lamp high filament is energized and are re-lit when the front lamp goes back to the low filament,,,which results in the side marker "flashing". The side marker is a single filament bulb.

Pretty sure this function is built into the turn signal switch/hazard/flasher circuit, but I have not pulled out the wiring diagrams to study it.

On a quick skim of it, looks like a pretty good explanation here http://www.wranglerforum.com/f210/t...lling-leds-as-side-marker-lights-1163153.html

Yeah that's pretty much what the wiring diagram looks like. The corners don't go to ground so they can go either way... I should be able to confirm this by reversing the corner lamps LED polarity and see if the opposite happens.... Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Don't really want to hack anything up though. May have to just put the bulbs back in those.

The book also shows that the turn signal flasher is literally connected straight to run from the fuse block, and then to the switch. with the ground it explains the 'always on' state. Have to figure out a workaround for that one. It doesn't work when its not grounded for obvious reasons.
