Ok so I’m looking all around for how this front lens screw attaches to the front bumper on my 87 442. Now I didn’t take it apart so I am not sure if it’s. Body connector clip or what and I’m having a hard time finding anything on this.
Here’s a picture of what I’m saying.
I have the new lens and screws but not sure what clips on those ears. Any help is appreciated.

There are also two rubber insulators per light that are attached to the bumper bar, not the actual chrome bumper, the bar behind it. I'm not sure why they are there, maybe to prevent the light from moving and breaking the ears off of the light or to prevent a noise if the light is touching the bar. If you don't have them, you could use a 2" piece of 5/16 or 3/8 fuel hose or vacuum line. Just split lengthwise and use weatherstrip adhesive to attach it to the sides of the bumper bar. Sorry that I don't have a picture, but that the best way that I can explain it. Maybe someone else has pictures or can explain it better.

Should I post? Ergh. Not a huge amount of great information on how all this junk goes together.

According to parts info, 11504662, pan torx head screws. Black. M4.2 x 1.41 x 25. (Auveco 14046). Need 4. If you wanted bright screw heads, opt for 11504661. Although, if you have to get an alternate black one, just a tad shorter, there's a 20mm long version under GM p/n 11504655 which is still being sold by GM. Just depends on what you want. I believe, however, as it's been a long time since I've messed with these, that the originals have a small captured washer under the head. OEM heads were also flat where most of the replacement screws are a bit rounded. Don't quote me on all that as I could be talking out of my azz. There's a splash shield that goes behind the joker that wraps around the wiring and mounts to the bumper behind the lamp with a push nut and a plastic pin (#15 in the pic below). There's also an insulator (#19). Next time I go out to the shop I'll try to remember to look at those screws closer.

J-Nut (#16) is 11500655. M4 x .7, but is also available as Auveco 11625. Here's a pic of it. Slides over those tabs with the protrution facing the rear.

The more I look at that U-nut, or J-nut, whatever, the more I'm thinking something's off with that. That looks more like a machine screw nut not one for a tapping screw. But what do I know? Maybe the camera shot makes the hole look larger than it is.

I'm betting THIS is more like the nut you would need. This p/n fits M4.2x1.41 screws. I'm not going to say the previous part isn't correct, the picture they show is kinda suspect. Again, I'm going to go to the shop, and steal the lamp out of the 85 and see what's up with that. It's never been off before so that should tell me what the factory did.
