Hi GBody family. I recently got an engine swap and noticed none of my lights are working, but my brake lights and turn signals. I tried looking around and i came to find out that the wires from the computer and that run from the passenger side were simply left tucked under the AC/wheel well. When I tried reaching out to the mechanic he said he didn’t know what those are for that’s why he left them there. Everything else on the car works fine. Any suggestions on how I can fix my light situation?

The computer harness has nothing to do with the parking or head lights. I'd say the age old check the gounds but you said you have brake & turn signals light up. Now is it all four corners or just the rear turn signals? Regardless, check out to see if the dome light, lighter, horns & key buzzer is working. If they do, go to the light switch. But I'm thinking the fusible link that supports all of those off the same main power red wire off the starter is bad.

Here's a scan of a basic break down on the power circuit for the head light switch to show what all that could be affected if it's an issue from the power distribution to the switch. It's from a '78 Chevy book but the basic concept will be the same.

Hi Pagrunt,
Thanks for replying. It’s just the turn signal from my rear lights. I checked all the other stuff and my done lights and everything else aren’t working either.

Hi Built6spdMCSS,
I checked all fuses and everything else seems to be good.
I'm going to say it maybe the fusible link tied into that part of the this circuit (circuit 2, red 12 AWG/ 3 metric gauge, main power). If that "CLK LTR CTSY" 20 amp fuse is good with nothing working off that will add to my theory of the fusible link.

Have you identified the problem and fixed it? If "no" then from the following please clearly state what is not working -- headlights, stop lights, front turn signals, rear turn signals, night running lights (side markers, license plate lamps, & taillights), reverse lights, and interior lights. Avoid the use of double negatives and be specific. Some methods to check your brake lights: convex mirror set-up so you can watch the taillights in your rearview mirror, set-up a smartphone or tablet so the taillights are in view and record a video, or have a friend stand in back of the car while you apply the brakes.

I question that you checked all related grounds -- I don't have my manuals (they are in storage) but for my Olds I know there 5 or 6 grounds scattered around the car. It could well be one or both fusible links need replacement but by saying "only brakes and rear turn signals works" then changing it to "only rear turn signals work" that tells me you have one or two circuits intact

Use a volt Meter or testlight to check for voltage at both sided Fuses use schematicd to find the various circuits
