Same thing. "Posi","Posi-trac","Positive Traction", all what GM called a limited slip diff.

Detriot locker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😛

Generically posi is a term often used but techincally an actual posi has both wheels locked turning the same ratio all the time. Limited slip allows one wheel to slip so far before its locked up and is turned by the engine. This allows the car to go around corners where one tire has to turn further than the other without forcing the rubber to slip or be spun on the pavement. Different manufacturers have different names but often people refer to their limited slip or whatever the manufacturer calls it as a posi. "Open" rear is what most cars get where generally only one tire drives the car.

This is incorrect. A locking differential is like a detroit locker. They "lock" while going in a straight line. When you go around a corner the inner tire slows down by the differential turning that tire slower using a ratcheting type mechanism. If they stay at the same speed then it usually means you are running a spool.
A posi or limited slip usually has a set of friction clutches or cones that "slip" to allow the inner tire to roll at a slower speed.
