A few weeks ago I charged the battery and afterwards it got tipped over on it's side. Today while installing it I found a small wet area under it dripping from the vent hole. I think it was acid because it started to burn my skin). It took a charge and did start the Monte. How can I determine how low the battery acid is? The rectangular cover on top appears well glued in and makes it impossible to check the cells.

Like most things these days, just replace it. Problem is, the store will probably give you a hard time (Advance will have you leave it while they charge and "test" it). It might help if you show them the acid burns.
Remember when they had the little green eye?

Great video! I have drained and refilled sealed batteries in the past with fresh acid. That product makes a lot of sense.

Here's my battery. Thanks Steve for the help. We'll see what's under the label.
