Look what followed us home from the Cadillac dealer.

Oh, and don't forget: once you install the unlocked PCM and TCM, you have to have someone with GM access capabilities (think Tech II brick) transfer the security (fobs) into the new 'puter. Otherwise, you're dead in the water.
The guy near me, that went on Drag Week with us, can do it. And yes, it's salty and a genuine PITA. Even the previous Gen is not like the older stuff.

He has made a 3.6 with a larger turbo(s) and meth put down about 600whp though.

Forget the tune. Too much of a PITA, and besides, it's plenty enough for her as it is.

She flaked out when she found out today it has "summer only" run-flat P-Zeros on it. Not recommended to drive in winter conditions.

Me: WAIT!! We live in SC...what winter conditions? Rare to have ice and even rarer to have snow!
Her: I know you have summer only tires on the ZL1. I don't want to park my car for the winter!
Me: It's not the same...
Her: It is the same!!

No dice, she's irrational about this. I tried to explain to her that they are NOT the same as the ZL1 max performance F1 Goodyears. You can't even MOVE the darn car if it's <20 deg. F without risk of splitting the tires. She knows my Camaro can't go out in the cold, now she thinks her car is in the same boat. NO NO NO!!! She now demands those tires leave and get some all-season tires.

So scratch the TV idea for now. I guess the handout $1200 is going to be spent on some all season run flats. Trying to tell her the 19" tires don't grow on trees. GM says 20" cadillac LPO wheels that you can get on the touring CT5s aren't approved for DF models (V-series). I'd be willing to buy some of the LPO wheels in 20" and there's a plethora of run flat all seasons you can do with 20" size. But no. GM doesn't allow that on the V Series. Unless I want to risk part or all of the warranty. Ain't worth that.

Jesus H. Christ.

Looked at the tires to verify size/ratings and they're Michelin Sports 4S Ultra summer tire 245/40ZR19 94Y all the way around, 33 psi in front, 36 psi in the rear. List price is $313.99 each.

She's going to kill me with this crap. Even the ZL1 tires aren't that pricey.

Oh well, she'll just have to live with some Goodyear V rated (149 mph) run flat all-seasons. I can get them locally mounted/high speed balanced for a hair over $1200 out the door, about the same price point as the Michelin OEs. Maybe I can sell the summer tires to someone who may need 'em.

BTW, the fugging car tried to do an SYSTEM UPDATE DOWNLOAD today. Over 2 MB of updates. In the big scheme of things, that's nothing, but still. It's coming from the cloud and showing up on the infotainment screen. I told it to come back later. It did not mention it was going to just update infotainment stuff, or was it going to update the car systems?

Not sure about this update crap.
