Re: Looking at 17" American Racing T70R's but not sure about

I'm gonna be going with 17x7 up front and 17x8 for that slightly staggered look. My car also has a hotchkis suspension kit so its lowered and I want the extra clearance. I am going 225-45-17 on front. But I am trying to figure out the rears. I either want to go 245-45-17 or 255-45-17. The 17x8's have 4.5" backspace, so I am not sure if I could get away with a 255, or that it may look stupid. Anyone tried that? I kinda have a feeling that the 255 would rub...

thats pretty much the same set up i have but 17x8s in the front and i was thinking about trying the 255 but decided to just stick with the 245s because i know they work and dont rub. i know a guy where i live who has a malibu with 265/35 and not sure what size rim or backspacing it has but its either a 17 or 18 and he said it only rubs when he goes around corners fast.
