Looking for advice on frame repair / frame off

Try to find a frame later than '84. The later frame would already have the extension in place to accommodate the 200-4R transmission. As Steve said, the extension can be fabricated if not equipped with one.

Good thing to know. I won't be going back to the yard till next week and I'll try to figure out what year the car is. I know I found a vin decoder somewhere. I'll have to find it again. Thanks for the info
 
Look at the lenses for tail lights etc. they usually have the last two digits of the year molded in them. Easiest way to figure out a model year if the factory door and or emission sticker aren't present.
