Hello, I'm new to this forum and have a question. I found a LSD out of a 97 S-10 Blazer and found out that it does not fit my stock axles. Do I have to change the axles to fit it or is there a different year that will have one that is a perfect fit. I do all my searching at the u-pull-it type yards. I did some research on the LSD that I found and it seems to be a G80 eaton. I need one that will unlock when car is inspected after racing, can not be locked all the time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

That will work but you need to buy 28 spline axles. Stock gbody is 26 spline axles. You could look for a monte carlo ss but not all where posi thats a direct fit.

Sounds like you circle track race. I have never seen a circle track allow any type of posi to be used...

Check 1988 & older S10 2wd, Astro Van, 82-87 camaro/firebird in the pull a parts..they have the 26 spline 7.5....also, the monte SS has 28 spline too. If you find one of these that isn't posi, grab axles & use your eaton carrier.

We can run stock LSD as long as it is not locked all the time.

there is no mechanical lsd that is not locked together by the pressures of the springs and clutches at all times.
