I'd like to lower my 82 cutlass, only looking for about an inch, but might be willing to go 2. was thinking about doing spindles in the front, but before i make any decisions, i just wanted to get some ideas from others. i just wanna retain the ride quality while maybe gaining some overall performance. gimme some ideas!

I would do coils if your on budget. 8) you shouldn't have to research much to find a decent set for your car. Eibach, Hotchkis, SPC, OPG ,Moog are a few choices..

yea, thats what i was thinking. i can actually get some stuff through work (i work for advance auto parts) and get a little discount. already doing alot of the chassis rebuild with moog, so i may go that direction. either that or eibach.

i thought of doing Moog 5658 front and 5413 rears. Till i bought a set of F body V8 convertible 2in drop springs, but the car is just too low. so now I am swapping them out for a set of Hotchkis 1in drop i just picked up now. There is so many options it's mind boggling so do your homework and do it once unlike me :blam:

I have Eibachs and they over priced. The front coils are great but personally I didn't like the rears since they are a progressive rate spring which in my mind is not a performance spring.

I had KYB's and blew the front ones up...bought some Afco's and they are the best shocks I have ever used

I bought a street comp kit from SC&C. Won't lie, it was pricey. However, after talking to Mark (the owner) I feel more confident that my cutlass will perform and handle the way I want. Mark knows his stuff and isn't a salesman, he talked suspension geomotry with me for half an hour.

If your looking to lower it on a buget I would just do the springs. Mark sells SPC springs so I went with those. They lower the rear 1" and the front roughly 1.25"
Using drop spindles will change the geomotry of your suspension putting stress on on parts moving in a different path than they were designed to.

I agree with the SC&C kit, my buddy on his SS and it handles like it's on rails 8) that will be my next BIG item to purchase later on..But for now ,who has Hotchkis coils? how do you like them? pro's or con's vs Eibach. Also who's running Edelbrock shocks with a lowered car? any issues?
